Molly has a background in addiction counselling and adventure therapy, and has had the privilege of learning about human behavior and how to guide people towards optimal mental health in several locations around the world. She finds the brain to be endlessly intriguing, and enjoys nothing more than witnessing those “Aha!” moments when a person begins to understand their own mind. She feels incredibly motivated to work alongside individuals who are ready to find a greater sense of wellbeing and a deeper connection to the healthiest version of themselves.

When counselling, Molly likes to take a collaborative approach. Typically, sessions will involve setting goals and intentions in order to guide self-investigation. She excels in creating a compassionate, supportive, and non-judgmental atmosphere that welcomes honest reflection.

Life is hard. As human beings we need connection and are not meant to navigate life alone. I feel privileged to support people as they walk through life’s difficult times. I approach work holistically, using a “wellness” model (as opposed to an “illness” model) which highlights and encourages client strengths, supporting them through thoughts and feelings in a safe environment, and to find strategies to help them cope with difficult situations. I have worked in government social service settings for the past 11 years supporting children in care , adolescents, families, and individuals experiencing a range of concerns.

As a counsellor, I will not tell you what to do but rather, will work with you to find a strategy that may help you to improve your situation. I can communicate in Malayalam and Hindi (two different languages used by the South Asian Community)

SPIRITUAL EMERGENCY
WellingtonPentagon_edited.png

In Transpersonal Psychology the term “spiritual emergence” is used interchangeably with spiritual awakening and recognizes that spiritual awakenings exist on a spectrum. Non-ordinary states (or altered states) of consciousness that are experienced along a spiritual emergence spectrum may range from those which are entirely positive, milder and more easily integrated within the individual’s life, to those that constitute a full psychological crisis. A “spiritual emergency” typically refers to a spiritual emergence that resembles what mainstream Western psychiatry often confuses with psychosis and is considered falling on the more extreme end of the spectrum. Regardless of where on the spectrum your spiritual emergence tends towards this is a normal transformative healing process of human development.
